This will serve as a public service announcement (because you know I'm all about providing public services). Please click on the link on the sidebar and tell your senators to vote to protect net neutrality. Imagine a world with two internets: One blazing fast internet that gets your information to the end-user with speed and accuracy because you pay the companies that run the networks a substantial fee; and another internet that is slower and not maintained as well because it's free to world. Guess where sites such as free blogs (like this one), small businesses, and emerging markets (like third-world nations) would reside? The companies that build and run the internet backbone say they can't (or won't) make improvements without the revenue generated by the so-called 'fast lane' internet. Here's an idea: Why don't you sue those spammers that clog the bandwidth of the 'net in the first place, sending me emails about Vi*grA, H**ny Housew*fs, and T**n Wbc*ams? Then you can use all the money from those bastages to clean up the internet and improve speeds for everyone? What a concept, eh?
